Veterinary Nurse

It's not “just a rabbit or bird” to us.

We passionately provide every small herbivore and feathered friend with quality, evidence based, humane veterinary care. But you probably figured that much from our name.

We are a workplace that faces challenges with a curious mind and embraces different perspectives, and together, we work to drive our area of medicine further. This certainly makes for a richer, more rewarding and a definitely quirkier workplace.

Our nurses are highly valued in our clinic, performing most, if not all practical tasks able to be conducted by appropriately qualified individuals.

We are looking for a person who thrives in a bustling environment where no two days are the same. You will be supported by the quirkiest bunch of individuals who will have your back on the bad days (hot chippies anyone?) and throw a celebratory dance party on, well, any other day really (dancing is optional, don't worry).

The juicy bits

  • We have an ongoing rolling roster, that includes various nursing roles, which means each week is a little different.

  • We are committed to promoting a healthy work life balance, we offer full time positions with a 4- day work week, consisting of 4x 9-hour shifts with a 1 in 4 Saturday rotation

  • No after hours or on call.

  • A biannual social event.

  • Above award wages, we have a structured orientation period and pay scale.

  • Generous CPD allowance, study leave AND paid VNCA accreditation/ registration fees. We really want you to keep learning, we LOVE new ideas.

Our wish list

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

  • An interest in Rabbits, Guinea pigs, rats and birds is a must, having previous experience in these species isn't a deal breaker.

  • You ideally hold or be willing to obtain and maintain VNCA registration/ accreditation.

  • You should have a strong passion for educating the community on species – specific care and welfare and take a warm, friendly approach to client care.

  • You should be able to confidently conduct informed and educational nurse consultations.

  • You want to actively participate and contribute towards advancing workplace culture.
