Qualified Veterinary Nurse

Integrity, Patient Advocate, Compassion, Learning, Community.

About us:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced veterinary nurse to join our team.

We are a veterinary practice that provides the rabbits, small herbivores, and feathered friends of Victoria with the very best quality veterinary care. We take a compassionate approach to all cases and work to educate the greater community on rabbit, avian care and welfare. We engage with local charities and rescue organisations on a weekly basis providing support through services and education.

As you’ve probably guessed, we are a very busy practice! We see a very diverse and complex caseload and we hold high standards and expectations for our client and patient care. This isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay!

Our nurses are highly valued in our clinic, performing most, if not all, practical tasks able to be conducted by appropriately qualified individuals.

We have an ongoing rolling roster that includes our various nursing roles meaning each week is a little different. With the support of a dedicated customer service team, we can focus on what we do best: providing exceptional care to our patients.

We are looking for a person who thrives in a bustling environment where no two days are the same. You will be supported by the quirkiest bunch of individuals who will have your back on the bad days (bubble tea anyone?) and throw a celebratory dance party on, well, any other day really (dancing is optional, don’t worry).

We are committed to promoting a healthy work life balance, we offer full-time positions, consisting of 72 hours a fortnight with a 4-day work week, those consist of 4 x 9-hour shifts with a 1 in 4 Saturday rotation.

About you:

· You will need a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

· The ideal candidate will be proactive in contributing to the advancement of our workplace culture, and consider themselves motivated, dedicated and inclusive.

· You ideally already hold, or be willing to obtain and maintain, VNCA registration/accreditation.

· You should have a strong passion for educating the community on species-specific care and welfare and take a warm, friendly approach to client care.

· You should be able to confidently conduct informed and educational nurse consultations.

· You will have a driven mindset you see what needs to be done, you take initiative action and you seek assistance or delegate when needed.

· An interest in Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Rats, and Birds is a must, having previous experience in these species isn’t a deal breaker.
